    ·      50% of teachers quit in their first 1-3 years

    ·      “What’s the first thing you think of when I say ‘history’? Nothing? Well that’s why I’m here.” – Mr. Lowrey

    ·      Mr. Stroope– 3^rd year history teacher: is really funny and sarcastic

    ·      Shows the different teachers and their styles

    ·      Mr. Lowrey – 1^st year history teacher: really boring and kind of awkward.  When his students ask how long he’s been teaching, he says, “An hour and ten minutes”.

    ·      Mrs. Reddell – 1^st year Assistant Principal: talking to Principal

    ·      Teachers eat lunch together and discuss their classes

    ·      Mr. Stroope really wants to win Teacher of the Year by his 5^th year

    ·      Coach Webb – 2^nd year P.E. teacher: tries to inspire her overweight students

    ·      Stroope’s admin goals from last year: less sarcasm, cleaner classroom, turn in lesson plans on time. He’s met none of these goals

    ·      People assume Coach Webb’s gay because she teaches P.E. & has short hair

    ·      AP Reddell getting home around 10:30PM

    ·      Coach Webb called out a teacher about enforcing the tardy policy, then invites her to join the teacher’s walking group

    ·      Mr. Lowrey’s chalk is stolen – he starts looking for books on classroom management

    ·      Shows how Lowrey’s teaching improves over the course of the school year

    ·      Teachers have video blogs to share their feelings about teaching

    ·      Stroope is asked to confront the other teachers about answering personal emails in class, leaving class, stealing paper & petty cash, etc.

    ·      Stroope “fake calls” Will’s parents about his grade, then threatens to do it for real next time

    ·      Lowrey is still struggling with his students

    ·      Shows the different relationships between the teachers (romantic, friendships, etc.)

    ·      Webb hoped that Reddell becoming AP would help bridge the gap between teachers and administration

    ·      Reddell feels like her friends (especially Webb) are trying to abuse her power

    ·      Teacher of the Year Debate: Stroope vs. Townsend

    ·      Stroope is truly passionate about what he does

    ·      Stroope loses TOTY – throws a desk in class & yells at his students

    ·      Webb and Reddell are fighting again

    ·      Reddell was able to substitute teach 2 days of the school year. She said they were the happiest 2 days of the year for her.

    ·      “Spelling Hornet” Spelling Bee for teachers: Teachers have to try and spell the slang words that their students use

    ·      Lowrey’s students tutored him & he won the Spelling Bee

    ·      Lowrey made a connection with his students, but he’s unsure if he’ll return or not

    ·      The teachers’ video blogs share what they’ve learned throughout the school year

    ·      Lowrey says, “Being a teacher is a gift. Maybe it’s something you can learn, but no one’s taught me.”
